Brancaia heeft 28 hectare wijngaard gelegen in het hartje van de Chianti Classico verdeeld over de gemeenten Radda en Poppi. Eigenaars sinds 1981 is de Zwitserse familie Brigitte en Bruno Widmer. Sinds eind de jaren negentig hebben hun dochter Barbara en haar man Martin Kronenberg-Widmer het voortouw genomen. Barbara, studeerde wijnmaker, is verantwoordelijk voor de productie en Martin staat aan het beheer en de wereldwijde distributie van Brancaia wijnen. Brancaia is een van de belangrijkste wijndomeinen van Toscane en haalt jaarlijks de hoogst nationale en internationale onderscheidingen. Alle wijnen van de jaargang 2008 halen minstens een score van 90 bij de internationale wijnpers zoals bvb Robert Parker. Het paradepaadje van het domein is Il BLU en voor vele wijnliefhebbers niet meer weg te denken uit het top segment van de Italiaanse supertoscanen. Brancaia wordt wereldwijd als een echte klassieker beschouwd.
